is a short story written by Marie Aubrey J. Villaceran that tells how Liza, the main character, dealt with her father’s ongoing affair with Sylvia and the resultant son, Lem.
And you can also read here how she overcome her problem to have a peaceful life.

The lesson I learned from the story “Sinigang” is forgiveness, because not everyone is perfect and makes mistakes too. But there are people who learn from this mistake and are ready to correct it, like Sylvia did. Because of Liza’s kindness, she forgave her even though it hurt her so much and that decision she made was not easy for her, but she chose to do it for the peace of their lives. Don’t always say that “nobody’s perfect” because we all have a choice whether to do something that we know is wrong. It’s still up to you if you do it or not. So I know that most of us learn from mistakes in life so that the next time we don’t repeat them.

Couples face a severe challenge since some of them lack trust in one another, which is natural given that some of them cheat and are dissatisfied with their current circumstances. Being loyal to your spouse is seen as a crucial quality that everyone should have when they start dating. Cheating is never acceptable and is always a decision. Your relationship will suffer, be betrayed, and undergo significant changes as a result. Just like being content can strengthen and keep your relationship strong, being faithful to your partner will do the same. Being happy and satisfied with your relationship is the same thing as being faithful and pleased.

Liza’s mother exemplified this principle and continued to have an unwavering love for her husband despite what he did. Although it is rather absurd, the “porridge” anecdote depicts real life. As illustrated by Liza’s father’s apologies, forgiveness is a strategy for letting go of emotions and ideas.

Life isn’t always ideal. As I think back on the story “Sinigang,” this illustrates what Liza went through throughout the narrative. Life isn’t perfect after all, and while mistakes are made by everyone, it’s important to avoid making them frequently because doing so can cause harm to others. If you do make a mistake, you must own up to it and ask the other person for forgiveness. The story depicts what some Filipino families have been going through, and may this serve as a lesson for all of us.
